Gertrude Assan

Gertrude Assan is a Senior Associate at Ntrakwah & Co., specialising in corporate and commercial law. She advises international and local companies on company incorporation, corporate governance, company secretarial work, due diligence, regulatory compliance, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, investment arrangements, and business restructuring.

She has been instrumental in structuring and executing high‑value transactions, drafting and reviewing key commercial agreements, and providing strategic guidance on corporate disputes, particularly those involving shareholders and directors. She is a member of the firm’s Arbitration Practice Group and also manages a substantial portfolio of family law cases, with a keen interest in intellectual property law, particularly in the protection of brands and creative assets.

Gertrude holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Cape Coast, a BA (Hons) from the University of Ghana, and a Qualifying Certificate of Law from the Ghana School of Law. She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the Corporate Law Institute. She has published articles on arbitration, cross‑border insolvency, and the AfCFTA, including contributions to the IBA Arbitration Country Guide and Lexology.
