Dr Kwadwo G. Ntrakwah

Dr Kwadwo Gyasi Ntrakwah is the Senior Partner at Ntrakwah & Co., heading the firm’s Climate Change & Sustainability and Arbitration practices. He specialises in environmental law, with a particular focus on carbon markets, climate and sustainable finance, corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and international arbitration.

He serves on the UNFCCC Article 6.4 Appeal and Grievance Roster of Experts, the panel attached to the crediting mechanism of the Paris Agreement supervised by the Article 6.4 Supervisory Body, a four‑year term from September 2025. He advises project developers, buyers and intermediaries on the structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiation of carbon market transactions, including emission reduction purchase agreements, mitigation outcome purchase agreements, REDD+ / forestry initiatives, and Article 6.2 cooperative approaches. He has also advised on joint ventures, public‑private partnerships and cross‑border investments across banking and finance, oil and gas, telecommunications, agribusiness and real estate.

Dr Ntrakwah holds a PhD in Sustainable Development and Diplomacy from Euclid University, an LL.M in International Business Law from the University of Exeter (UK), an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Reading (UK), and completed the Post‑Graduate Diploma in Bar Vocational Courses at the University of West England, Bristol. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), Faculty Leader and lecturer in Company and Commercial Practice at the Ghana School of Law, and a former Director of Meritas. He is dual‑qualified, having been called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) and to the Ghana Bar.
