Gideon Ofori Osabutey

Gideon Ofori Osabutey is a Consultant at Oaks Legal, specialising in environmental law, energy law, ESG advisory, and climate change governance. He advises clients on environmental and energy regulation and compliance, corporate climate change risk management, ESG and corporate sustainability, legislative drafting, climate and biodiversity projects and finance, and pollution and environmental protection.

Gideon has served as a Digital Transformation Advisor at GIZ, leading digital development and policy work in Ghana, and currently lectures at Ashesi University where he teaches climate and global innovations, sustainability, and systems thinking. He advises the Ghana Climate Innovation Center on climate research and policy, and has advised an international film agency on environmentally sustainable film production. He is actively engaged in interdisciplinary discourses on climate change and sustainability and works to incorporate climate change education into university curricula.

Gideon holds an LL.M in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Birmingham Law School, a master's degree in Law and Public Administration from the University of Ghana School of Law, and an MSc in Climate and Sustainable Development from the University of Ghana. He is a doctoral researcher in climate and sustainable development policies at the University of Lisbon. He is a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals and the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel.
